Monzon, who was elected to the post on Saturday, said the exchange was also targeting companies who have reported US dollar finances to consider dollar-denominated securities for fundraising.
“Hopefully, this will get more interest not only from the listed companies, but also from the investors,” he said, as he noted that there was one “successful” DDS listing earlier this year.
Monzon, owner of the Miss Earth beauty pageant, said he would prioritize the Exchange’s acquisition of the Philippine Dealing System in his first three months in office.
An accountant by profession, Monzon believes the “numbers are looking good now” and said the passage of the administration’s tax reform package “will have a very positive impact on the stock trading activities.”
