“Acceptance for Cavitex will commence soon,” the company said in a statement.
PayMaya Business, which delivers solutions that enable businesses of all sizes to accept payments, will power the acceptance of contactless card payments at NLEx and Cavitex. This is the first-of-its-kind payment acceptance initiative for tollways in the country.
This move will further strengthen the electronic toll collections of Metro Pacific Tollways Corp.’s (MPTC) expressways, enabling faster and more convenient cashless transactions for consumers.
MPTC is controlled by Metro Pacific Investments Corp., an affiliate of PLDT.
“The collaboration between MPTC and PayMaya moves us toward the ultimate goal—to serve Filipinos by delivering to them high quality infrastructure—both physical and digital,” PLDT chair and CEO Manuel V. Pangilinan said in the statement.
PayMaya, which was formerly Smart eMoney Inc., is the first prepaid online payment app that enables customers to pay for products and services online without a credit card.
